We thrive on efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction, and we are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the combined role of Front Counter Sales and Truck Dispatcher.
Position Overview: The candidate will oversee daily operations, oversee yard activity, and coordinate trucking logistics for the delivery of materials. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with our diverse team and clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist them in finding the right products. Provide product information, answer inquiries, and resolve complaints with professionalism.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized sales counter.
- Recommend products based on customer needs and upsell additional products or services.
- Manage truck drivers’ schedules and routes, overseeing the dispatching of dump truck drivers. Assign trucks based on bed style and driver expertise, optimizing routes for timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with equipment managers, owner, job foremen, and customers to coordinate the delivery of aggregates and materials.
- Review logs of truck drivers, fuel tickets, and delivery tickets. Document all calls, deliveries, routes, and times, completing paperwork such as invoices and delivery slips.
- Handle customer inquiries, discuss pricing and delivery timelines, and work to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Identify areas for improvement within operations, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Detail-oriented with strong numerical and weight calculation skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities, including bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
- Proficient in using phone systems and GPS technology for communication with drivers and carriers.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with industry-specific software.
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree or higher.
- 2 to 5 years of experience within the landscape or construction materials industry, with specific experience in truck dispatching preferred.
- 3 years’ experience in Customer Service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with QuickBooks.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.

- Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00/regular hour. Over 40 hours, time plus half of regular pay.
